Khalil Habib, PhD., is a Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Pell Honors Program at Salve Regina University, Newport Rhode Island, USA where he also serves as the faculty advisor to the university’s Student Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club.  He discovered Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 1998 while living in New York City and working as a sales rep for one of the largest financial and insurance companies in the world. He has been studying and following the art ever since. During his years in graduate school at Boston, he worked closely with Viatech Continental Can Company where he advised senior management on growth opportunities, playing a key role in raising capital to support the company’s global acquisition strategy.  His love of jiu jitsu and friendship with Nick brings him to the Jiu Jitsu Brotherhood where he assists Nick as international strategic consultant. “To me, Jiu Jitsu is about self-discovery and friendship. It engages the mind and the body and has introduced me to some of my best friends, both domestically and internationally; it forms a community around a mutual love for virtue and transparency.”
